RECENT ACTIVITIES
(Public and Private - Last 3 months)


June 9th, 2013 - The Commodore Chorus performed at the First United Methodist Church in Hampton, VA, for their "Open Door Concert" series.

April 27th, 2013 - The Commodore Chorus competed at the Mid-Atlantic District's Southern Contest in Reston, VA, finishing 3rd in Plateau AAA.

April 18th, 2013 - The Daylight Singing Time ensemble performed for the residents of the Golden Living Center on London Boulevard in Portsmouth, VA.

April 11th, 2013 - Celebrating the 75th anniversary of our Barbershop Harmony Society, three Norfolk Chapter quartets visited 39 local area families of deployed military service men and women to deliver a love song, a greeting card, and a rose to each family. Some of the spouses also were in the military. Following are pictures of some of the recipients.

            
               

April 4th, 2013 - The Daylight Singing Time ensemble performed for the residents of Sentara Village on South Newtown Road in Norfolk, VA.

March 17th, 2013 - The Commodore Chorus performed for the St. Mary's School for Disabled Children in Virginia Beach, VA

The Commodore Chorus is the performing chorus of the Norfolk, Virginia chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, a 501(c)(3) organization based in Nashville, TN which boasts more than 28,000 members throughout the world. Our Chapter was chartered 54 years ago on March 28, 1957 and is a significant part of the history and heritage of barbershop harmony in the Southern Division of the Mid-Atlantic District. Members of our chapter hail from all areas of Hampton Roads and include guys from as far north as Kilmarnock, VA, and as far south as the Outer Banks of North Carolina!

REGISTERED QUARTETS


3dB

Formed in 2003, the 3dB quartet competed in the Mid-Atlantic District's International Preliminaries Contest in March, 2012, in Reston, VA.

Dave Haines, Doug Price, Dave Bennett, and Bill Byrd are all members of our Norfolk Chapter.

Acclaim!

Acclaim! has been performing in the barbershop style around the Hampton Roads area since 1994.

Dave Watts, Van White, Pat Patrick, and Dick DeLuca are all members of our Norfolk Chapter.

Speculation

The Speculation quartet has been performing in the Hampton Roads area for several years.

Dan Lilly, Jim Byrd, Red Mann, and Jim Loadwick are all members of our Norfolk Chapter.

The School Board

The School Board quartet was formed in 2012 to perform in Tallwood High Schools production of "The Music Man."

Ross Wilkins, W.D. Bankart, Norm Barbee, and Ron Soreil are all members of our Norfolk Chapter.

DAYLIGHT SINGING TIME
